I'm now figuring out why I'm not blogging here on my personal blog as regularly as I would like. I have so many great photos to throw up here, great stories from our family time this past weekend, and all sorts of musings about life and humanity.
But every night after Beckham is in bed and Anthony and I have finished enjoying our dinner together and the hour comes when I would normally blog a bit before heading to bed, I clamour over to my quickly wearing-down dog-eared book (new just a few weeks ago...) - The Poisonwood Bible, by Barbara Kingsolver.
It is just brilliant.
Disclaimer: it is a hard read. Hard in the aching pit-in-your-stomach-over-the-deep-darkness-of-Western colonialism-and-its-aftermath (and the misguided missionary endeavors entwined with that colonialism) kind of hard. But beautiful and full of truth and just absolutely searing.
Ugh.
I can't wait to go read more of it. Just a few minutes a day is all I can spare. But those minutes are going to happen right now. Good night!
